Towel Tips

All terry towelling or velour products should definitely be washed before it is used. Our towelling products are all pre-washed, however its still may contain the dust of dead fibres, which flows on the air during the stitching process. Our products are cleaned thoroughly after stitching, and contain minimum level of cotton dust. Fibre loss is unevitable on darker colours, as the dyeing process takes much longer than lighter colours. For example a white fabric is only bleached and this take only an hour, whereas a dark black colour takes up to 12 hours to finish the dyeing process. Due to this longer dyeing process, the abrasion creates loads of dead fibres, which can still continue within three washes. We are using special enzymes to remove all dead fibres, but still definitely suggest to use it after couple of washing cycles.

In order to care about the longitivity of usage with your towels, pay attention to the detergents you are using. At coloured towels and bathrobes, avoid using detergents with OBA (optical brighteners), which can cause colour loss after each cycle. If you want your towels and bathrobes to keep their bright colours after many washes, you should use detergents with for colours and wash at minimum temperature. Higher temperatures than 30’C , will cause a shading difference. Colour fastnesses can only be achieved with VAT/Indanthrene dyes and our special R&D dyeing process we call HFR , which was developed within our group, after long years of research. The VAT/Indanthrene and HFR can be dyed at 95 C with OBA detergents at ISO105 standard.

Our towels and bathrobes are produced in hygenic environments, however you should be carefull with products you purchase at unkown places. There are still factories, who ignore the code of conduct and produce with cheapest laborship and at dyeing houses who use cheap dyestuff, without water treatment. Environment is very a priority issue with our products and we definitely aim to produce at the lowest carbon emmission to leave minimum carbon footprint.
